Creativity is just like a muscle; if you don’t use it you lose it. Theatre Sports offers a weekly imagination workout with like-minded students to keep your creativity going. If you’re familiar the popular show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, you’ll feel right at home with performance games that will test your brain, tickle your funny-bone and bring out your inner Beyoncé. You’ll be given weird scenes and even weird- er characters and have to improvise your way to a story with nothing but your wits and the people around you.
If the idea of improvising makes you nervous then Theatresports is the place for you. As artists it's important to constantly push ourselves towards developing our ability to respond to any situation, emotion or character thrown our way. You don’t have to be a drama student to be a part of the action. Theatresports is open to all Vena Cava members of all ages, majors, disciplines and abilities.
So once you’ve signed up, you can be part of the action. Have you ever wondered how a party with Shakespeare, Kanye West and a 6 foot lizard disguised as a business man would fairly distribute snacks? Or what it’s like to have an entire conversation consisting of nothing but questions? Even if you haven’t, Theatresports is the place for you in 2016! So if you’re looking to make new friends, or just need a good laugh after a long day of Uni, Theatresports is the perfect excuse to tear up the script and go off book!
Theatresports are held every Wednesday at Kelvin Grove G-Block. Times and room do change each week to accomodate as many students as possible.
